Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Hunters devote themselves to accomplishing hazardous tasks, all from traversing the world's uncharted territories to locating rare items and monsters. Before becoming a Hunter, one must pass the Hunter Examination—a high-risk selection process in which most applicants end up handicapped or worse, deceased.

Ambitious participants who challenge the notorious exam carry their own reason. What drives 12-year-old Gon Freecss is finding Ging, his father and a Hunter himself. Believing that he will meet his father by becoming a Hunter, Gon takes the first step to walk the same path.

During the Hunter Examination, Gon befriends the medical student Leorio Paladiknight, the vindictive Kurapika, and ex-assassin Killua Zoldyck. While their motives vastly differ from each other, they band together for a common goal and begin to venture into a perilous world.

10/10 manga is a masterpiece
Character's,world building.power system.antagonist,protagonist’s ,charachter design
And arcs everything is perfect.
I highly recommend if you like adventure and action and amazing fights.
One of my first anime to watch was my favorite and still is.

Art style 10/10 firs my style of course art is subjective so i cant say you will like it but I certainly do.
The motives for all charachtera are great and have a feeling of realism.
This anime excels with its side character's as they are all well written and entertaining.

... If you like boring and serious anime you will not enjoy this of course.

The power system of this anime is truly genius and takes a while to understand but it is very fun when you understand

Mixed Feelings

After the anime turned into a zoo it became impossible to watch.

It sure is an anime amongst anime, it influenced many works and is widely popular.
Until Greedo Island arc it was a 10, a masterpiece. Then there’s what could be the worst arc ever made, the ants arc.

I know that filler episodes exist. But now, a whole filler arc!?
A bunch of hideous creatures, a lot of new unimportant characters, whole episodes that focus in the same conversation between the same two characters, fights that last multiple episodes, slow motion important scenes with the narrator describing every detail…
Why the main characters Leorio, Kurapika and the ... phantom troupe are absent for roughly 60 episodes? What is it that Gon cares SO much for this Kite guy? Ugh.

This last impression destroyed the image of how good this anime was for me. Unfortunately. If I knew about it I would’ve skipped this whole arc.

For the last 10 episodes I was already fed up and didn’t care about the elections plot and focused only in the story between Killua and Alluka, which was good.

Ridiculous anime with a stretched out non sensical plot.
It could have been a second Dragonball Z but poor writing, shitty pacing, tons of ridiculous characters killed the story.
Even though there are some good episodes in the beginning of the series, the episodes that come later become increasingly ridiculous.

Gon supposedly is searching for his father.. who literally is on the fucking Hunter's council and didn't go anywhere.
Also Gon is basically an attempt to copy Goku.

There are a lot of things in Hunter x Hunter that have been copied from Dragonball Z.
The ant king Meruem is literally a copy of Cell. They look and act almost identically.

The ... show has tons of plot holes. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. What the fuck is even the purpose of this show?
90% of the screen time the characters are just explaining irrelevant shit like how their skills work or what they are gonna do in the next couple of minutes. Most episodes just waste time talking about irrelevant bullshit. Some episodes are so ridiculous that the only things that happen in these episodes is nothing except characters talking about some irrelevant bullshit while sitting in a room. Some episodes are dedicated to describing bullshit such as paranoid feelings of some no name 10th tier characters no one gives a single fuck about. Imagine a whole fucking episode about some irrelevant character's feelings? You just have to ask yourself what the fuck is going on and why is this being shown to me? There are literally dozens of episodes where the main characters aren't present. It's like watching fan fiction inside the main story. Like what the fuck? I'm telling you the amount of characters in this show is insane. I lost county. There are maybe 300 characters out of which only a dozen really matter. The rest are literally who?

Also the stories of the main characters remain undeveloped. When the show ends we don't know much about any of the main characters. Even Gon.. like who the fuck is Gon besides being the overpowered protagonist and the son of Gin and friend of Kilua? I donno. Gon doesn't even feel like he's the main character even though he is clearly the main character.

I'm not even talking about other main characters. Hisoka? No idea who he is except that he's very powerful. Also it feels like the creator of this anime didn't think the skills the characters posses through very well. Some skills are so powerful that it doesn't make any sense how the Hunters even have problems with anybody. Judging by how overpowered the characters are there shouldn't even be any monsters left in the world. Even Gon or Kilua in the beginning of the story are so powerful it just blew mind. Or Hisoka. He's so powerful.. and he's clearly not the most powerful one. Or.. like the ants.. they become so powerful in the end it's just insane how they lost. Nothing makes sense in this show. It kinda makes me wander if the creator took some drugs when he was writing this.

The show had great potential. But it failed on every count. I think the problem is that the creator of this story just doesn't have any talent but instead has good connections through his family in anime industry because it just doesn't make any sense how such shitty anime could have been made unless someone used powerful connections in the industry. Corruption? Looks like it.

148 fucking episodes of this shit? Are you fucking kidding me? I mean I watched everything until the end. I kinda fast forwarded some episodes because they were unbearable to watch.

They could've easily fit this story into a 12-24 episode series. Not more. Judging by how it was dragged out to 148 episodes it's obvious some insane corruption was involved.

I have to admit the quality of art is pretty good. But everything else is plainly VERY BAD. I give this 4/10 only because the art is pretty good. That's why I actually could finish watching it.

But on the bright side.. the show isn't as bad as One Piece or other cringy anime that I couldn't even finish.

But seriously HxH is frustratingly bad. The reason for such frustration is that at moments, some episodes are actually pretty good, but all good impressions from those episodes are destroyed by shitty plot development by later episodes.

It's like as if the show's main goal was to disappoint the viewers and ruin the mood. And the ending holy shit.. what the fuck??? In the end Gon is acting like nothing happened. It doesn't feel like anything happened at all. It feels like a fucking first episode. He also all of a sudden starts to climb mountains and trees like a spiderman.

I think the creator of this story deserves to be kicked out of the industry for crime of stealing time and polluting the catalog with his shitty crap.

Dialogues - 1/10

PS I really liked Neferpitou. Too bad she/he ended up like she did.. all because the creator of this anime is a fucking asshole.
